Short-winged Conehead (Conocephalus dorsalis)

Carnforth, Lancashire, September 29, 2011

This species has spread northwards into this area of the county within the last decade and is now also known further north into Cumbria. Here it is found on the salt-marsh amongst sea rush at the upper limit of the highest tides.
